final word.

For anyone who missed out, here’s a rough idea of what last night looked like. Thanks to everyone who came out, all the bands that played, underworld staff and anyone else we might of forgot. This will definitely be remembered as one of the better shows of 2009.

lifers.

Here are a few videos of lifers from their first show in montreal. We are all stoked to have seen this band go from an idea simon had when he was really high one night to this. We have no doubt that Lifers will go on to do great things.

a busy saturday…

This saturday proves to be a pretty busy but amazing one. You should start off the evening by getting a good bite to eat.. then head on over to L’esco (4467a st-denis) for the spoken word event with none other than Paul Bearer of Sheer Terror. This event will be on time. Doors at 6 and event over by 9 so id suggest showing up right at six not to miss any of what he’s got to say. After this Fucked up, Aids Wolf and Red Mass are playing up the street at Sala Rossa (4848 st laurent). Definitely an amazing lineup. Right after that show is done, we’re all heading down to the ever popular St-Henry neighborhood for an after party at the Squalor house with Omegas and Vile Intent. Who knows what will happen, Show up to avoid disappointment! See you all there.

madmen are coming….

Not our show but one that no one should miss. This saturday, now at the friendship cove, Madmen will be playing alongside Omegas, Urban Blight, Molested Youth, Bad Choice and a few others. slam skanks!

UPCOMING SHOWS

We’ve been working hard on completing line up for some upcoming shows and trust me you wont be dissapointed. The biggest news is that Final Word will be playing with Internal Affairs on the 30th of january at Underwolrd and that Vile Intent will be releasing their long away demo on this night too! Joining them will also be Cruel Hand and Alpha and Omega. This is one of the most solid lineups in a while and Underworld will be a great venue for this show.

A week before that show will be the much anticipated return of Trapped Under Ice. Their last montreal show with terror was incredible, this will be ever better! Joining them on this tour are Full Blown Chaos, Philadelphia’s very own Reign Supreme and straight out of england is Dirty Money whom Trapped Under Ice recently released and incredible splt 7″ with. The cherry on top though, is the new band playing their first show that night. They dont have an official name yet so we’re calling them the Lifers Band for now which is Hugo and Tremblay of Lifers Montreal, with BenBass of Final Word and Simon and Louis who’ve been in a few different bands, are and have been part of sizeemup and the black dot. Simons played a few songs and I guarantee if you are into any of the bands playing that night, youll love this new and upcoming montreal hardcore band. See you all there!

Paul Bearer

We’ve teamed up with our boys over at Lifers Montreal to bring you something a little out of the ordinary. On Saturday January 17th, we’ll be a hosting an evening of spoken word with none other than Paul Bearer of Sheer Terror. This event will take place at L’esco and doors will be at 6pm. He will begin his spoken word shortly after as the even needs to be over by 9pm. We hope to see you all there, as this will definitely be an interesting evening.

Criminal Damage

Once again it’s that time of the year when Dan turns a year older and gets grumpier. To celebrate we decided to fly out Criminal Damage for a 1 off east coast show. If you’re not familiar with the band, think a mix of blitz and no hope for the kids with members of tragedy and his hero is gone. They have 2 lp’s out on Feral Ward that you should check out. Opening up the show will be montreal’s own Omegas, Bad Habits and Prevenge. Show is Saturday December 13th at friendship cove. Ten dollars but more if you feel like helping out and the show is all ages.
This is our first attempt at flying out a band for a 1 off show, if this works out we will try and do more shows like this in the future. See you all there.

BLACKSHIPS RECORD RELEASE

Remember a while back, we were doing a show for Blackship’s record launch? Well, that didn’t happen. You see, there is a thing called Punk / Hc time which means that sometimes things run late (not shows though, those always start on time so show up early!) Blackships didnt have their record on time so the show ended up being a going away party since they had a couple months of touring ahead of them and we were all gonna miss those dudes. Well, Blackships finally got their records, they are on their way home from tour as we type this and are ready to properly unveil their new record to you. The show is this saturday at friendship cove, so see you all there.

TRAP THEM AND SOUL CONTROL

Trap Them were just here but will be back on November 8th as part of their tour with Surroundings. Soul Control have asked us to come back seeing as they love Canada so much and it all worked out so they would be the same weekend. Locals Kraken and Castevets will also be playing. This ought to be an amazing show. See you there.

Fries, Chocolate and Waffles…

For those who didn’t know, True Colors will be playing at LBH on Tuesday. These guys are here all the way from belgium so make sure you come out and check them out as you might not get another chance. Supporting them will be Cruel Hand from Maine who feature current members of Outbreak, as well as montreal’s own Prevenge and Crucial times. See you Tuesday.
